The SOFFI-DRAIN system will accomodate
longitudinal and horizontal movement whilst providing
a continuous watertight seal.
Existing sealant joints that have failed
and are leaking cause problems associated with water
ingress. There will be a buildup of limescale deposit
which can cause its own contamination, particularly
in the case of car parks where parking bays may have
to be taken out of service for fear of compensation
claims by car park users.
The water caught by the SOFFI-DRAIN
is then managed into the main surface water drainage
system in the form of conventional pipework. A typical
UPVC outfall is connected to the lowest point of the
joint run.
The secondary seal is formed from tough
elastomeric sealant with "damp tolerance"
characteristics in application. The SOFFI-DRAIN installation
will benefit from the use of this componant as typically
the formation in these areas will be damp and difficult
to dry out to permit the use of more traditional sealants.
SOFFI-JOINT Componants;-
- High Grade aluminium
support and carrier rails.
- Extruded EPDM elastomeric
seal forming drainage gully - [ 150mm wide - Dark
Grey only].
- Stainless steel
M8 retaining bolts and nylon washers [thus avoiding
bi-metalic reaction and the subsequent corrosion of
joint componants].
- Tough elastomeric
sealant with damp tolerant characteristics in application.
