Silane
"Silane Impregnation" is
the treatment process adopted by the Highways Agency
to protect Reinforced Concrete as predominantly used
for Bridges, Retaining Walls and Structures .
The process involves the application
of isobutylltrimethoxy alkyl-silane solution by low
pressure spray onto the surfaces of cement based building
materials.
The process does not alter the visual
appearance of the treated area once dry.
Fastglobe have a vast experience of
the process and have been involved with the treatment
from the outset in the UK through our FGM subsidary.
The main objective of the application
is to avoid the possibility of de-icing salt that has
been disolved within water from entering the concrete
to cause the steelwork to corrode.
We have been working with Remmers UK
who manufacture the envioronmentally friendly Funcosil
IC [Impregnation Cream] and have several installations
of the product within the UK which we see as a major
development within the Industry as Health & Safety
issues with the traditional formulation of Silane is
a major concern..
* We now are able to offer
Water Based products, approved by the Highways Agency
which are totally envioronmentally and application friendly
all of which achieve the performance criteria of traditional
Silanes*.
We are approved installers
of Silane systems for;-

100 and Funcosil IC*]
Epichem Ltd [Protectosil
